A frank and funny discussion about the art of making radio shows, featuring Farai Chideya, Hillary Frank of The Longest Shortest Time (WNYC), Jaime Green from The Catapult, and Benjamen Walker of Theory of Everything (Radiotopia). Hosted by PJ Vogt of Reply All, the panel will discuss how they started out, the challenges they’ve overcome, and the innovations they’re continuing to make.
This program starts promptly at 7:15PM and will be followed by a reception in the Kickstarter HQ gallery.

Of course you devoured Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey last spring. On Thursday, February 26th, interact with the cosmos live with the lovable, irreverent scientists from Astronomy on Tap. Never content to let Neil Tyson have all the glory, we’ll share what we would have done differently (Drunk Astronomy, anyone?), reveal behind-the-scenes secrets, and generally celebrate the fleeting appearance of real science on network TV. Videology has a full bar with wine, draft and bottled beer, and a cocktail menu plus classic movie theater food like popcorn, nachos, pretzels, and hot dogs. And of course we’ll have games, very special prizes, and Astro-tainment radiated by DJ Carly Sagan!

The Alliance of Resident Theatres/New York (A.R.T./New York) presents an exhibition by Brooklyn artist Ketta Ioannidou. Black Hole Sun features eight oil paintings on canvas. “These works are stunning, gorgeous and bright but with a richness and depth that pulls the viewer in for a closer look.”
Gallery Three is located on the third floor of South Oxford Space, at 138 South Oxford Street in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn. The exhibit runs through April 26.

Mamady Kouyate is a pioneer of the Guinean musical movement known as Authenticité. He played in various bands - his own band, Les Ambassadeurs du Mandingue, being one of them - but is probably best known as the guitarist in the classic Bembeya Jazz National. Kouyate, who now lives in NY, has reformed the Mandingo Ambassadors, updating the sound of his youth, but keeping it very close to the standard of Authenticité. The new All-Star band includes Mamady "Djelike" Kouyate, guitar, leader; Bebe Camara, vocal; Eudy Fernandez, trumpet; Oran Etkin, tenor sax, clarinet; Sylvain Leroux, flute, Fula flute, alto sax; Sam Dickey, guitar; Nick Cudahy, bass; Andy Algire, drums; Foluso Mimy, percussion.
