Neighborhood Guide

Columbia Street WD

Just South of Brooklyn Heights and West of Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens, the Columbia Street Waterfront District (CSWD) has rapidly grown in popularity in recent years and is now on the neighborhood list for many moving to the area. Columbia Street Waterfront District features a mix of classic homes and newer developments, along with community gardens, parks, and local businesses.

At the north end of the neighborhood one is only steps from Pier 6, part of Brooklyn Bridge Park. There one can find beautifully constructed playgrounds, unparalleled views of the skyline, access to tennis and volleyball courts, rolling grass hills, picnic tables and chairs, along with convenient ferry service to Governors Island.

The Columbia Street Waterfront District is served by P.S. 29 and P.S. 58; both schools enroll children from grades Pre-K through 5.

The Columbia Street Waterfront District has something for every taste, with plenty of local spots to explore and nearby sites to discover. The CSWD is ideal for everyone from the first-time Brooklynite to the long-time resident, and its proximity to Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill make this neighborhood that much more attractive.
